The Best Luaus on The Island of Hawaii
The Island of Hawaii (also called the
Big Island) has an area of 4,028 square miles and is larger than all
of the other Hawaiian Islands combined. In greatest dimension, the
island is 93 miles. If you are visiting a Luau on the Island,
you have many options. Given the Island's size, its best to
attend the Luau at your Hotel (or one within the area).

Kamaha‘o Lu‘au at the Sheraton -
Review
The Kamaha‘o Luau is held Monday nights at the Sheraton
Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa. The setting for the Luau is
oceanfront. Check-in begins at 5:30pm, however note that this may be
seasonally adjusted, therefore ask when making your Luau
reservation. The cost of the Luau is $79.95 for adults,
children ages 5 to 12 are $49.95 (4 & under are free). To make

Island Breeze Luau - Review
The Island Breeze Luau is put on by Island Breeze Productions, Inc.
and held at the Kona Beach Hotel (walking distance from many
accommodations in Kailua Kona). Doors for the Luau open at 5pm,
ending at 8:30pm. The Luau has been rated the best Luau on
the Big Island by visitors, travel and writers. The setting
for the Luau is the historic grounds of the King Kamehameha’s Kona
Beach Hotel. The cost is $73.45 for adults, children 5 to 12
are $36.70 (children 4 & under free).
Kona Village
Resort Luau - Review
Rated best Luau in Hawaii by Hawaii magazine. The Luau is held for
the Kona Village Resort guests (included for guests), however
the Luau is also open to the public (reservations highly recommended).
The Luau is held each Wednesday and Friday evening, doors for the
Luau open at 5:15pm. For non-resort guests, the cost for
adults (13 years & older) is $98. Children ages 6 to 12 are $67, and
children ages 3 to 5 years are $40. The cost includes
the show, demonstrations, food, one complimentary beverage and
service charges (taxes are not included). For reservations call

Mauna Kea Beach Hotel Luau
The story is that this Luau was created for Newsweek magazine back
in the 60's. The Mauna Kea Hawaiian Luau completes the experience
with a taste of culture shared by means of music, food and family
tradition. The Luau is held Tuesdays, with the Imu Ceremony at
5:45pm. Seating begins at 6:00pm and the Luau ends at 9:00pm.

Royal Luau - Review
The Royal Luau is held Wednesdays and Sundays at the Outrigger
Waikoloa Beach. The cost is $65 for adults, $35 for children
ages 6 to 12. Five years and under, free. Check-in begins at
5:00pm, the Luau ends at 8:00pm. The Luau offers a Traditional
Hawaiian Luau Buffet with open bar. You will also witness the
unearthing of the imu (roast suckling pig that is a tradition in a
luau buffet).
